Coalition of the WillingCoalition of the Willing

What is the Coalition of the Willing?

The Coalition started as a film and has grown into a movement. The film proposes a way people can work together to become more sustainable. We're the group working to realize this vision.

The Coalition film proposes using the Internet for three areas of work, each with a different function and audience.

  • A Catalyst Network - connecting you with action groups in your community and around the world.
  • An Open Innovation Platform - new open source design for change.
  • A Green Knowledge Trust - the practical knowledge, the answers you need.

It has been recognized that there are many people, groups and initiatives working in these areas and that there is much to be gained by developing methods for them to easily work together.

No-Kill LouisvilleNo-Kill Louisville

In the summer of 2009, there was a flood that forced the evacuation of all the animals from Louisville's city shelter, Louisville Metro Animal Services (LMAS).

People from around the city responded to the call for help. During that time, many of these "temporary volunteers" learned they were needed for much longer. There simply was not enough staff to keep up with the huge volume of animals coming into LMAS.

Wikileaks

Wikileaks

WikiLeaks is a not-for-profit media organization. Their goal is to bring important news and information to the public. They provide an innovative, secure and anonymous way for sources to leak information to our journalists (our electronic drop box). One of their most important activities is to publish original source material alongside their news stories so readers and historians alike can see evidence of the truth.

They are a young organization that has grown very quickly, relying on a network of dedicated volunteers around the globe. Since 2007, when the organization was officially launched, WikiLeaks has worked to report on and publish important information.

The Out CampaignThe Out Campaign

Atheists have always been at the forefront of rational thinking and beacons of enlightenment, and now you can share your idealism by being part of the OUT Campaign. Atheists are far more numerous than most people realize. COME OUT of the closet! You'll feel liberated, and your example will encourage others to COME OUT too. (Don't "out" anybody else, wait for them to OUT themselves when they are ready to do so).

The OUT Campaign allows individuals to let others know they are not alone. It can also be a nice way of opening a conversation and help to demolish the negative stereotypes of atheists. Let the world know that we are not about to go away and that we are not going to allow those that would condemn us to push us into the shadows.

Electronic Frontier FoundationElectronic Frontier Foundation

From the Internet to the iPod, technologies are transforming our society and empowering us as speakers, citizens, creators, and consumers. When our freedoms in the networked world come under attack, the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) is the first line of defense.

EFF broke new ground when it was founded in 1990 — well before the Internet was on most people's radar — and continues to confront cutting-edge issues defending free speech, privacy, innovation, and consumer rights today. From the beginning, EFF has championed the public interest in every critical battle affecting digital rights.
